Profile:
Martin worked as a Patents Examiner for three years at the Australian Patent Office, primarily examining patents in the field of electronic communications. He then spent four years in Sydney, where he worked for a major firm of patent attorneys. Martin moved to Adelaide and joined Madderns in 2000, becoming a partner of the firm in 2003.

Martin regularly gives lectures on intellectual property law issues to business groups and universities in Australia and overseas, and is a regular guest lecturer in Adelaide and Sydney for the Masters of Science and Technology Commercialisation course run by the University of Adelaide.

Outside of work, Martin is a senior instructor in Kung Fu and has trained on several occasions in Hong Kong. He also has a keen interest in astronomy, and enjoys reading science fiction/fantasy and listening to classical music.
