Profile:
Chris has a solid experimental science background (PhD in experimental physics, 3 years in defence science) and has over 5 years research experience in the life sciences area as a bioinformatician. He has experience in both designing, developing and analysing data from a range of novel high-throughput data acquisition systems in the fields of physics, defence and biotech.

Chris studied at the University of Adelaide where he obtained both his bachelor's degree and his PhD in experimental physics on a project developing a novel detector for extremely high energy cosmic rays. Following his PhD he then spent three years at the Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) in the Weapon Systems Division where he conducted experiments and computer simulations of blast effects. In 2001 he moved into bioinformatics taking up a position to the Bioinformatics Group at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute for Medical Research in Melbourne (WEHI). In 2003 he returned to Adelaide to take up a joint position at the Child Health Research Institute (CHRI) and the Microarray Analysis Group at The University of Adelaide, were he worked on a range of projects studying leukaemia, craniosynostosis, embryonic stem cells and T-reg cells.

In 2006 Christopher joined Madderns and became a registered patent attorney in 2010.
